Speak to all senses… Stimulate your creative muscle by activating all the senses!
Table of Contents
In our previous post, we discussed inspiration as fertile ground for creative thinking. Because let’s be honest: ordinary, predictable ideas are rarely the ones that really help us move forward. Certainly not if you are looking for innovation, renewal or a fresh perspective on a complex problem.
To find truly innovative ideas, we must not dig into our conscious thoughts, where logic and routines reign, but rather activate the subconscious. It is there, in that mysterious, deeper realm of the mind, that the ideas that really make a difference arise.
But how do you appeal to the subconscious? By appealing to all your senses.
The forgotten power of sensory stimuli
I remain fascinated by the power of the mind. The subtle, almost invisible way in which our brain works. Often it is not the obvious stimuli, but rather the silent signals that awaken the subconscious and lead us to truly innovative ideas.
In our information-driven world, almost everything revolves around sight, around visual input. PowerPoints, dashboards, whiteboards, videos, reals… Most of what we do on a working day takes place on screens and in visuals.
But what if we were to use the full potential of our senses during creative sessions? What if, in addition to seeing, you also felt, smelled, heard, tasted – and perhaps even appealed to something intuitive?
It may sound like a luxury. But we believe it is essential. Because our senses are the shortest route to our subconscious mind. And that is precisely where the source of our most innovative ideas lies.
How we activate the senses at Creative Wonderland
Our spaces are not just designed to look beautiful. They are designed to be felt, experienced and to stimulate your creativity on all levels. Below is a short tour of the sensory world of Creative Wonderland:
Smell and touch – the moss wall in Nurture
🌿 In our Nurture meeting room, we have installed a large, vibrant moss wall. Not only is it visually soothing, but it is also tactile and fragrant. It brings a subtle connection with nature indoors, perfect for reducing stress and allowing new ideas to flourish.

Sitting & seeing – the depth of Perspective
🪑 The Perspective break-out room challenges you to… sit differently. Literally. The comfortable seating area is recessed, creating a feeling of security and a different perspective – something that subtly influences your mental process.

Touch & texture – welcome to Texture
🧶 Texture is our most sensory space, a sensory cocoon, as it were. A space where the floor and walls are covered with soft fabrics. Think of carpet under your feet and against the walls, hand-felted sheepskin and soft, cosy pouffes. An abundance of textures that activate the sense of touch and give a surprisingly safe feeling. Ideal for vulnerable brainstorming or reflection.

Wood & warmth – the kitchen as a sensory hub
🌲Our kitchen is made entirely of wood, which not only looks natural but also provides warmer acoustics and a pleasant aroma. It’s a place that feels like coming home – and that’s exactly what we want: an environment where you dare to let go.

Hearing – finally, acoustics that are just right
🎧 We admit it: the acoustics were really not good at first. But we’ve thoroughly addressed that. Now conversations sound clear, without disturbing echoes or distractions. After all, sound is one of the most underestimated factors for focus and comfort.
Tasting – a coffee break that really contributes
☕ And then, of course, there’s coffee. Not just any coffee. We searched long and hard for a blend that tastes really good and is gentle on the stomach. A coffee moment as a small ritual, one that creates connection, relaxation and often the best ideas. In addition, we also have our herbal teas, homemade with the utmost care and attention. For those moments that require something extra.

Senses on = creativity on
We don’t believe in boring meeting rooms or generic brainstorming spaces. Our spaces are not standard meeting rooms. We believe in environments that you can feel. Spaces that invite you to stray from the beaten path, stimulating environments that literally trigger something because they appeal to your entire system – not just your head.
