Creative Wonderland, what’s in a name?
Why is our place called Creative Wonderland? I could quote Shakespeare in full: “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” We could also start a fascinating philosophical discussion about the importance (or lack thereof) of a name, but that would take us too far afield.
In short, our brainchild needed a name (always handy, right?). And preferably one with meaning, one that sticks, is clear and at the same time leaves room for imagination. And how we ended up with Creative Wonderland, you are about to find out.
Alice in Wonderland: a childhood favourite

Let me get straight to the point: yes, our name deliberately refers to Lewis Carroll’s iconic and beautiful book “Alice in Wonderland”. For me, that story is pure childhood nostalgia. My great-aunt often read it to us when we stayed with her. For hours, we wandered together in a world full of talking rabbits, tea parties and disappearing cats.
Fantasy and imagination have always been a common thread in my life. She gave me the book a few years ago, and it now sits on my bookshelf alongside a beautifully designed double edition of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.
That love for the story has stayed with me. And even now, when I discover a book that has something to do with Wonderland, I’m sold. Recently, I even read the book ‘Shattered’ by A.G. Howard, about the ‘real Wonderland’. A dark retelling of the original story, highly recommended…
A search for myself, and a name
When we were designing our space, I was going through a ‘minor’ identity crisis or ‘rediscovery phase’. After 15 years in the financial sector, realising that this isn’t really your thing does something to a person. I felt it was time for something different. Something with more meaning, more creativity. And then you go back to basics, to the core. In my case: diving into all kinds of personality tests. And of course, you come across the ever-popular MBTI, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicators.
Apparently, I am an INFP. Dreamy, idealistic, creative. And during my countless Google searches, I came across several references to Alice in Wonderland. Alice herself is said to be a typical INFP, as is the author Lewis Carroll. In fact, some sources refer to the INFP as the ‘Wonderland type’. INFPs are notorious daydreamers, sometimes inventing whole new worlds just to escape everyday reality.
Now, I am convinced that no one can be pigeonholed into one particular category, but it struck a chord. It felt like confirmation. Combine that with my personal connection to the story, and the first part of our name was born: Wonderland.
Why Creative Wonderland?

Now, ‘Wonderland’ was beautiful in itself – but not unique. And more importantly, it didn’t quite cover the scope of what we do here. After all, this place didn’t just come about out of nowhere. It arose from a deep desire for creativity. For thinking differently. For new ideas.
We played with dozens of words and combinations, but Creative Wonderland felt the most right. Because our space breathes creativity: in the design, the atmosphere, the structure of the sessions. And because we believe that without creativity there is no progress. No growth. No innovation.
What you can expect
Creative Wonderland is more than just a nice name. It is an invitation. A place where you can escape from your daily routine, where imagination is welcome, and where you are encouraged to think differently.
In the coming months, I will tell you more in our blog about our vision on creativity and the role of space, tranquillity and imagination in that process.
